loveshack.

i've had a beautiful last weekend in brisbane. danced all night with friends to 90's music on friday night which left me a little tired on saturday. think B52's, mark morrison, blur and sir mix-a-lot. of course my bestie and i were still able to summon the strength to have some yummy breakfast in stones corner and have a ferret around the nearby lifeline. i found a couple of treasures...the flour cannister and plate you see below. I was also given some gifts on friday night as i'll be celebrating my birthday whilst i'm in san francisco so early presents are always a surprise! Beautiful flowers, a scarf, kitsch tape and a retro yellow glass jar FULL of $1 US notes! If you read a post i did a few weeks ago you'll see just how much i love my glass cannisters and yellow ones at that! Perfection. Only 6 more sleeps to go and i'll be off to the US..i'm getting very excited indeed. Have a great week everyone. x

lemon meringue.

when life gives you lemons...make a lemon meringue pie! it's hardly cry worthy but i've just found out that i owe mr tax man. this is all thanks to my lovely creative arts degree i finished a few years ago. ho hum..let's move on, deal with that later and get excited about a few yellow treats i've come across today.

i've been meaning to make one of these bad boys for agggges now. a quick search on google brought me to this! let's get baking.

lemon beauties from paulette in san fran. this is going to be one of the most delicious days of my life..cannot wait to take pics to show you all!

my best friends and i have decided that this summer = vintage bikes for picnics and riding to each other's houses. wow, how 'now and then' of us i know..but seriously..makes me look forward to this crazy summer we're expecting. (ps. i'm not a summer girl, the bike will help me be more positive about it) haha.

coloured retro glass..need i say more? oh, and that it's yellow. yum.

moroccan teapots and tea...yuuuuuuum! look at those treats..the colours..the light. my bestie and i have also decided we'll probably do turkey on our paris/london trip next year. how obvious is it that we've both had pretty crappy days..this means lots of travel talk and flight booking!

totally making some of these for the garden in summer. i plan to have many teaparties outside on my verandah. i'm going to embrace summer with open iced tea drinking, lemon meringue pie baking arms.

what are your plans?

nice day for a white wedding.

one of my most favourite girls at the gallery is getting married tomorrow. seems like only yesterday that we spent hours scouring 100 layer cake's endless inspirations and she was talking flowers and cake. her brother (finalist in project runway) is making the dress..perfect or what?the day has arrived and i wanted to dedicate a post to this very special lady as i know she will have a beautiful life ahead with her husband and their lives are only just beginning. here's a taste of what tomorrow will bring...

woodlands of marburg..she's getting married here.

peonies are her favourite but are unavailable at this time. they remind me of her though. (cocoa chu chu)

something similar will be making an appearance. (something's hiding in here..my fav!)

my red velvet's are the thankyou gifts. all boxed and ribboned and tagged..perfect!

sunday & sunshine.

good afternoon lovelies. what a beautiful day it is in brisbane. popped along to chandler markets this morning for a quick wander and found some treats. met two beautiful sisters who were selling a few of their mother's belongings as apparently she has far too much stuff for an 80yr old! everything that was from their mum's house was marked with 'mum', made me smile. i'm having a nice day doing some washing and pottering around the house. off to my sister's for afternoon tea later and as it was a hectic day of baking yesterday, it's nice to be moving at a slower pace today. isn't that what sunday's are all about?

some lovely teatowels..never used. a few ALL will be available at rummage!

a large hanky that i popped into an embroidery frame. puppy and deer..cutest combination! (available at rummage!)

gorgeous poinsettia barkcloth fabric and two pretty vase/candle holders. (one at rummage!)
