guest blogger.

I have a been a big fan of Sophie from 'Her Library Adventures' (and founder of the ever popular 'flea market finds') and her wanderings for some time, so of course i jumped at the chance of sharing a favourite recipe with her lovely readers this week. Go and have a peek and see the other guest posts from this week too. Sophie is currently embarking on an online shop for some of her lovely vintage finds, so the blog world just got that much more delicious. Thank you again for today's feature Sophie, I look forward to collaborating with you again in the future. Happy Thursday everyone!

nothing gold can stay.

hello sunday. boy, you take aggggges to come around and then when you're here, you go way too fast. a little bit of sleeping in, eggs and bacon breakfasting, copious amounts of tea, series one of love my way, skyping, baking (monte carlos...again!) and artwork planning was on the menu today. i snapped a few pretty things on my travels (read: whilst doing chores and boiling the kettle) and even managed to fit in 5 minutes of thrifting yesterday whilst on route to coles. have missed it. am itching to get to england to see my nanny kit, who isn't in the best of health at the moment and with a best friend leaving for london indefinately next monday...i'm trying to stay positive for two of my most favourite women. i've changed my idea for the group exhibition in august too...now involves a WHOLE lot of cross stitching and cake plate gathering (YAY!) so i've gotta get moving. tonight i'll be on my way. i won't be doing rummage next weekend as planned as i'll be spending the day with my bestest, which includes coffee and baked treats at vintage espresso, dinner at our favourite sushi place and lots of chats and hugs. will be dedicating a special post to her next monday, so get the tissues ready (note to self). i hope you've had a beautiful weekend, a few exciting things are in the pipeline at kit & nancy over the next few weeks so stay tuned and have a wonderful week. much love.

you make me feel like home again.

so i found my adele cd. perfect start to a perfectly relaxing and love filled weekend. it started with the arrival of a beautiful friend and old room mate (and mother to be!) friday night, continued with westend market wanderings saturday morning (some vintage apron buying and caravan admiring occurred), some partying to celebrate my two beautiful besties saturday night at secret meant flirty, brownie eating, dancefloor filling fun. sunday breakfast at lady marmalade with my girls was followed by lazing in the sunshine this afternoon (resting our bellies ready for tea and scone consumption around 3)... delicious. this weekend has been divine and i want to savour it until next weekend arrives. works out i have tomorrow off aswell so baby snuggling with my favourite newborn is on the cards. perhaps another scone fix, but who's counting (calories)?

the darling floral apron from the cutest market stall around.

market doily finds to be used in the upcoming exhibition.

beautiful blue skies...ALL weekend.

lazing in the backyard has never been so perfect and kate, being all pretty.

sunday behaviour.

so i've got the BIGGEST gf monte carlos baking in the oven right now, satc is on the tele and i'm still looking for my adele cd. have had a very relaxing weekend full of boxing, yummy breakfasts, napping, baking, more napping, exhibition openings, skyping mum & dad, dress-ups at secret, late lunch at lady marmalade, more baking, some love letter writing and delicious pumpkin soup eating for dinner. after a super successful rummage, i have been very well behaved when it comes to collecting more treats. i have decided fabrics are allowed but in order to take my savings plan (thank you ING) seriously, i have to restrict my opping adventures, so no finds to show this week. i have included a few pics from my weekend with new studio curtains...99c from ebay i do believe. i love them, hooray! i'm working at the gallery on queen's birthday so the monte carlos are a little (but actually quite large in scale) treat for my goma kids. Surrealism has opened and it's just marvellous. please try and pop by if you're in the brisbane area. the moustache lollipops in the exhibition shop have me going cuckoo! katie also finished the editing of the besties photoshoot, so i am of course having fun sorting and posting a few of my favourites. she is so talented, and my friends, just so beautiful. have a wonderful week and enjoy your three day weekend my loves!

many mugs of milky tea and new studio curtain behaviour.

keen as mustard.

one of the best colours around. my english rose tinted complexion means i cannot always pull off yellow. (read: never pull off yellow)...but this warmer tone seems to fit perfectly. just like the skirt i bought at rummage on sunday. it appears to be handmade, have lace embedded down the front and fits...like a glove (read: i won't be eating carbs before wearing it.) in other news, i have decided to head over to the UK to see my nan (kit) in may next year. this means saving has begun, my next rummage will have lots of my lovely treats for sale (due to a HUGE decluttering at flower st), and i have decided i will be leaving brisbane for more textiley horizons. there's a textile course in melbourne i fancy returning to after eating croissants in paris with my girls, photographing and dreaming of living in a houseboat in amsterdam and drinking copious amounts of milky tea with my nan. life is definately too short not to go on an adventure. nothing is set in stone but i've written to my nan to tell her to pop the kettle on..can't back out now! have a great wednesday.

the skirt and complementary mustard florals from le collection.

sorry for the non-ironed pics of this beautifully crafted skirt. look at the pleating at the back!

my life without you...

i could never comprehend. you inspire and support me to be the person i strive to be. your beauty takes my breath away. i will forever be grateful for your friendship and look forward to where our lives will take us...never too far away from each other. this kind of love is the travelling kind.

i'm too excited to sleep. i am bursting with love. i've run out of words to describe how i feel about these women. i do hope however, that you too, are lucky enough to share this kind of love.

rummaging sunday.

what a glorious sunday. started a little overcast but the cool breeze soon cleared the grey clouds to reveal a big blue sky. we snagged a super spot and my gorgeous rummage pals made for a beautiful and relaxing afternoon full of europe chats and chai. i had lots of lovely people stop-by for a catchup, buy my treats and discuss the urban myth of sad boy paintings. i felt two sad boys in my house was a little much, so i decided to let this guy go. he went to a lovely lady who knew about the myth and totally embraced it. i do love the rummage crowd. i had chats with the gorgeous kellie and although i behaved myself too well for my liking at her stall, i did manage to grab a few treats during the day (see pillowcases, a paint by number and mustard skirt.) with a few swaps done, i only ended up paying out $7! (for the skirt that my personal shopper found for me.) there was a huge crowd (see photo below) and many bargains were found. thank you to those that made my afternoon wonderful and very fruitful! have a lovely week!
