2013.

this was one of the best years of my life. exactly 1 year ago i was readying myself for the biggest move i've ever made.  it was a matter of the heart and so i trusted it. by february 20th i was on my way to europe with all my earthly posessions packed away and only a 30kg suitcase by my side. i was running on adrenaline, excitement, emotion and above all, love. who was i to deny what my heart wanted most? 10 months on and i am experiencing the deepest kind of love. i love my new city, the culture she celebrates and the person i am becoming with the best kind of man by my side. my british blood is at home here and i am ready to take on the new year from where i stand.  life is way too short not to take chances and let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. it will not lead you astray. thank you to everyone who supported me this year, loved me and beyond all, believed in me. wishing you all a very happy, healthy and inspiring new year and i look forward to sharing my adventures with you in 2014.

winter.

first day of winter. feeling as unaustralian as they come. LOVING the chilly air, the gezellig cafes, my new winter coat and boots, a cinnamon scented kitchen, thermal sheets, cups upon cups of tea, early morning frost and the promise of some new year snow. i've been embracing the dutch life with arms wide open. my job is going swimmingly, i'm feeling settled, loved and i'm busy building my own rotterdam network. the scariest decision of my life is proving to be the best i have ever made. hello winter, come on in. x

found.

how long has it been since i shared my latest vintage finds with you? appears to be...ummm...forever ago. it's going to appear that i have a slight obsession, but let's be honest...if you've been following k&n for a while now then you'll know it's completely normal. i found some great things in paris whilst visiting my sister, went a little wallpaper crazy in gent and have since been ferreting amongst copious amounts of treasure at my local market. i live in a city that although from the outside can look at a little too new for vintage treasure, is an utter goldmine. i have to remind myself i have treasure packed away back 'home' but as i become more settled here in holland, i really can't see myself or my treasure hunting going anywhere else. prepare those peepers.

very few words needed to describe this ultimate 70's treasure (money box). 2 euros? i think so.
