i borrowed your smile for the weekend.

hello july. it's been a lazy saturday. it took me a while to gather some enthusiasm to step outside this morning after one hell of a sleep in. when i'm not working i just want to stay in my pajamas all day. i know you hear me on this. i also wish pajamas were suitable food shopping attire. i have been known to wear trackies (read: that double as pajamas) to coles. i needed to grab some ingredients for tonight's vege curry so off i rode (not in pajamas), stopping at my local oppie and next door 2nd hand shop on the way. picked up a few treats for the exhibition. I have completely changed my direction now, as you may have noticed, but this idea involves a whhhoooollleee lot of cross stitching and beautiful cake plates. oh yeah. so those works are underway and i'm excited. had a good chat to my mama on skype when i got back, i do love our chats. i realise each time i talk to her that i am just a younger version of her. i've kinda always known this but it's nice for it to become more apparent the more we talk. we have a very strong friendship even though i treated her so badly as a teenager, always yelling and screaming (and then crying and apologising 20mins later...many 'i'm sorry notes' were written....at least the ones i write now are more positive!)...but she hung in there, everytime. i hope she knows just how fabulous she is. i've been watching ‘love my way’ (can’t get enough of keddie & karvan) this afternoon whilst cross stitching and stuffing scones in my face. Feeling some sweet sadness today that is leaving me a little teary but still inspired by what is about to unfold. I’m currently re-reading kylie johnson's 'count me the stars'...a beautiful and inspiring little book. i've turned to it a few times to try to explain (in beautiful poetry) just how i've felt at that exact time. Today, i borrowed your smile for the weekend...and hopefully next week...i'll be able to give it back to you, and mine will return. happy weekend lovelies. enjoy your sunday...i know i will. xx
