the week that was.

with my 3 day weekend off to a good start, the week that was looked to be hopeful and breezy. instead, there were big changes and a long awaited visit to the dentist. not a bad week at all, but a big one in the scheme of things. there was some mid week thrifting (to ease the nerves pre-dentist, and this turned up some real treats) and there was a big decision made in regards to my move post exiting the flower house. a promise was broken but my heart was followed and i'm happy everyone seemed to come out ok. i will be a northsider from the end of january and living with two wonderful girls much closer to work and my sister. i got so caught up with the idea of saving money for europe, i neglected to work out a living option that would lead to me living a happy, easier life in the mean time. i am a day to day 'beauty lies in the simple things' kinda woman. i feel like i have made the right decision and so the remainder of the packing and sorting begins. 10 metres of bubblewrap and 10,000 odd sheets of butchers paper await me. home alone 2 is on the tv and the french earl grey is overflowing today. had a lovely wander through a couple of oppies this morning on my morning drive around and the treats i stumbled across, i will share with you and the rest of the flea market finds gang tomorrow. the weather is looking very undecided indeed, so the washing will have to wait. a few more of my vintage sheets ordered from etsy arrived this week too, to many squeals of excitement and about 300 instagram photos. hope this finds you having a very happy saturday and i'll see you tomorrow!

the beautiful zara sent me love in the mail (a fork bearing my nan & grandad's initials), i admired many a floral couch whilst thrifting this week, shopped for bric a brac and wandered my local streets waiting for my dentist appointment.

i ate mince pies, snapped a thousand instagram photos, grabbed a bag of christmas for $2 and loved seeing vintage sheets still in their original packaging.

found some retro recipes, began planning my trip to paris with my girls next year, thrifted some pretty floral sheets and admired this toadstool cake!

Which suburb will you be living in? Welcome to the Northside! I've lived on the Northside my whole life - it's not so bad :)

I love your instagram photos! You've inspired me to have some vintage loveliness in my classroom!

Oh your blog posts are always a whole pile of yumminess. Loving all the instagram snaps, i am so keen to try it myself. And frankly cakes and vintage sheets are just the best combo. Cannot believe you are defecting to the dark side but was worried about you living so far out in the burbs and having a horrible drive to work so well done for following your heart. melx

How lovely are mince pies?! I tried my first one a couple of weeks ago. I'd been turned off them orginially because I thought (don't laugh) that they actually had mince meat in them. Ewww! My mother in law laughed hysterically at me BUT I recently learned that the first meat pies did infact have mince meat in them! I know! Gross huh?!
Lovely post xxxx
