but of course!

image via design is mine.

this is kiiiind of a fabric related post. no pictures i'm afraid but i am off to melbourne for a long weekend on friday so who knows what kind of treats i'll return with! thanks again for all of your help with that, i have a beautiful list of hot spots to try out. have been thinking lots about the future lately (which is always helped along by all the new babies and marriages going on around me), so i felt the need to share my 2 cents with you about some future plans that will make complete sense if you read my blog. why oh why has it taken me this long to work it out? in 2013 i WILL begin a surface design diploma in sydney and get my fabric adoring butt into gear and back into some study. what is better for a vintage fabric lover than working with fabrics, wallpaper and homewares on a daily basis? i've been thinking about this for almost two years now, so it's time i got the ball rolling (and some money saved!) which will then allow me to take my design educated self to europe, melbourne, the states...wherever my heart and my diploma desires. i finished studying nearly six years ago and with a degree that was too general to take me anywhere in particular. this committed relationship, starts NOW. europe in june is still very much on the agenda but i am just too excited not to share...wish me luck!

It must be nice to have things worked out in your head. I wish I had that :)

Good on you! I have also heard 'what you enjoy is what you are gifted at'.

I have about 10 years on you - and still haven't figured out what I want to do! (That said, in my head, I'm still 17 with years to decide!). Surface design sounds like it would be perfect for you. It's a shame the options in Brisbane are limited when it comes to things like that.

So proud of you! Perhaps a skype date to discuss and you can help me decide what I want to do? I feel as though I have this new chance to do whatever I want and I don't know what it is! Love you lots! xxx

Better late than never! Sounds like a fantastic course and enjoy Melbourne, I love visiting- my only tip would be to hit the cake shops in Acland Street down at St Kilda, they are an absolute feast for the eyes and the tummy. melx
