flower power.

it's a rainy wednesday here in roffa and after spending a good hour trawling my image folders i could no longer resist the call to share these beauties with you. the flower markets here are wild. any colour or flower you want, you can have it. the prices are reasonable and it often makes me want to take up floristry. ranunculus have become a firm favourite as they seem to have such a long and varied life cycle. you buy them, hoping they'll reward you with blooming splendour and they do, every time. peonies are always a crowd pleaser and so they should be, my last bunch bloomed to nearly dessert plate size. my powder pink carnation buy firmly secured my love for fresh flowers since arriving in holland so most saturdays you can find me at the markets drooling over the pastel petaled delights. a lone powder blue/grey/green hydrangea stem is currently beautifying my kitchen table. i think i may have taken at least 20 photos of her already. it's the simple things.

Lovely florals! I'm incapable of having fresh flowers on my tabletops and NOT taking dozens of photos of them.
