work it.

in my early teens the idea of 'being an artist when i grow up' was always laughed off, usually by everyone but my parents who were always 1930270% behind me. when i met australian artist michelle wardley at age 19, she was quick to tell me that i was already an artist and that a creative life was nothing short of a gift. that conversation has stuck with me ever since and remains to inspire my inner creative workings 10 years later. the making art process has always been one of my most favourite happy places, with opshopping and baking following close behind. with only 20 days of full time employment left, i have been spending a lot of time thinking and planning my creative life for the year ahead. i won't be going straight into full time employment when i get to europe, infact, i won't even be going into a new job immediately. hanging out for these past few months here in australia has allowed me to save up some much needed dollars that will hopefully allow me to experience the unemployed creative life for a while. there will be a time when i will need to step back into full time work but when does an opportunity like this come around that often? i am lucky enough to have a beautiful man in my life that understands the importance of a creative/work life balance and his support has only helped inspire my latest creative projects. sooner rather than later i will be setting up a big cartel store under the beloved kit & nancy name and will be selling a few of my limited edition screenprints. since partaking in the rachel castle class in october, my love for the process has blossomed. i am completely besotted with the screenprinting process and the ideas are overflowing. the prospects of organising an exhibition and getting involved in the rotterdam market scene has my creative senses running on overdrive. i also wanted an excuse to take the time to thank you for your amazing feedback on instagram, after nervously uploading a few of my latest projects, the interest has been humbling. in response to comments about selling my works, setup is underway for big cartel so i hope to be in touch very soon. i appreciate your support through this transient time more than ever, so thank you from the bottom of my warhol adoring heart.
