flowers and fleamarkets.

something holland isn't short of. last weekend was a fleamarket frenzy of sorts. we hit two big markets, one on saturday (at my boyfriend's football team's stadium) and the other slightly hungover (at a favourite snuffel markt) on sunday. both were fruitful trips and my pocket was lighter by only a tidy 11 euros. we appear to have become magnets for west german pottery and with the prices just right, we've collected three over the past week. i remember admiring their colourful textures back in australia but the price, Larry, was definately not right. now i border the country where the beautiful vases are made, so they flourish happily at my local markets and thrift stores. my local flower markets have also provided me with a myriad of pastel beauties as of late and as spring is fast approaching, the incredible ranunculus, tulips and hyacinths are becoming a necessary weekly purchase.

our third west german find of the week with a side serving of marimekko.

lately.

again, i've let far too much time pass in-between posts. maybe it's because my job demands i spend 8 hours behind a computer screen, which was completely foreign to me until a few months ago. it really does affect the relationship i have with getting behind a keyboard and letting my own thoughts drive the topic of conversation. it has taken a sick day, a day of renewing my energy for our forthcoming trip to london with a rooibos tea in hand and london grammar playing gently in the background to get me blogging again. the sun is shining and winter has never been more beautiful. the boy and i have been out and about lately with afternoons spent wandering our favourite galleries, treasure-hunting, watching our favourite dutch band and nights spent snuggled on the couch finishing the last season of breaking bad. the new season of girls awaits me patiently on my usb, hearty soups are fast becoming my favourite dinner choice and the long weekend sleep-ins are making winter bearable. we booked our tickets to australia for september for a whole month of fun times, reunions and the wedding of the year. until then a few weekend trips to london, paris and gent will keep us busy. last but not least, march 1st marks my 1 year anniversary in holland. boy, how time flies when you're having fun.

we finally framed the fabulous foursome from the beloved white album.

market treasure.

thrifting.

as i put the finishing touches to a small collection of eames screen-prints, i am also juggling the fun job of editing photos of my latest treasures. you could almost call it a part-time obsession, this treasure hunting business. it's up there with my passion for making art & baking cakes and it definitely takes me to my happy place. one of the main reasons i started writing a blog was to share my latest creations together with my thrifted treasure. sharing the second hand love is a beautiful thing and why i decided to take some time out on this productive sunday night to share my latest finds with you. found anything uber delicious this weekend that i ought to know about? have a good week!

one of the perks of living so close to germany. this beautiful and bright west german vase is now the centre of attention in our lounge room. a wooden pineapple plate that's a little slice of home, now rests by my bed side.

snagged a couple of floral tablecloths at the local market yesterday. flower power baby.

picked up this beauty from a gorgeous belgian couple at the last swanmarket. they had a caravan full of treasure and reminded me that the belgians really know their vintage.

a round floral tablecloth that will soon adorn our new tulip table.

it was a lucky stop at a new opshop a few weekends back. i filled my bike basket with these enamel/tin beauties for a bargain price.

pattern LOVE. who knows what i'll make out of this but for now i'm happy to just adore it.

an unmarked treasure that i just couldn't leave behind. had nothing to do with the 50c price tag. ;)

oh vintage floral. you will always have a huge piece of my heart dedicated to only you.

a retro photo album containing photos of a 1975 fleamarket. talk about perfection.

there are no words. but a #coasterperfection hashtag makes sense.

i foresee a valentine's day photoshoot. <3 nbsp="" p="">

found.

how long has it been since i shared my latest vintage finds with you? appears to be...ummm...forever ago. it's going to appear that i have a slight obsession, but let's be honest...if you've been following k&n for a while now then you'll know it's completely normal. i found some great things in paris whilst visiting my sister, went a little wallpaper crazy in gent and have since been ferreting amongst copious amounts of treasure at my local market. i live in a city that although from the outside can look at a little too new for vintage treasure, is an utter goldmine. i have to remind myself i have treasure packed away back 'home' but as i become more settled here in holland, i really can't see myself or my treasure hunting going anywhere else. prepare those peepers.

very few words needed to describe this ultimate 70's treasure (money box). 2 euros? i think so.

retro bauhaus liberty fabric found at a charity shop in england.

i can now cross this set off my wishlist. alfred meakin, you genius.

so much to love.

spitalfields finds. love a bit of welsh tapestry.

this beast now adorns our pastoe coffee table, stealing the show.

yes, yes and yes! i found myself some vintage decs and for a steal. thank you thrifting gods.

vintage stationary. hello lover.

retro recipe cards in a flower power tin? yes please.

eyepopping goodness.

love me a bit of upholstery fabric.

retro floral pillowcases are a given.
