brownie for breakfast.

no grand plans. no big breakfast. just beautiful sunshine, friends replays and a tidy house. after yesterday's crazy storm behaviour, i was keen to stay in this weekend and get some rummage treats sorted (next sunday guys!), catch up on some chores and bake some brownie. yesterday started with a little boxing action, some recipe reading and brunch on the verandah (thanks bertie!) it wasn't long before clouds that resembled those on the never ending story rolled in and the storm watching began. (note: storm watching involved me, and only me, standing out in the eminent rain 'oohing and aahing' to magical cloud formations) i whipped up some curried vege fritters for dinner with one of my girly pies that was used to balance out the impending brownie overload consumed soon after. adding some crushed walnut to an old recipe favourite is this weekend's revelation. i am definately taking the rest of it to dinner tonight and i am most definately not eating it for breakfast right now. beats muesli right? i have joined in the fun over at sophie's even though this weekend has been a little quiet on the thrifting front. melbourne is fast approaching so every spare $$ is heading into that fund. i have begun to record all of your lovely recommendations and tips for melbourne, thank you again for that. i'm off to fill my belly with more milky tea and price some lovely rummage goodies. i hope this finds you all enjoying a lovely sunday. much brownie love.

sunday breakfast (large amount of brownie is for effect only!)

flowers inside and out. ('Hippeastrums' thanks ladies!)

a recent gorgeous gift. reading up in preparation for the sweet treat hunting in paris next year.

saturday morning and then afternoon. queensland, you are quite incredible.

it looked like the clouds were breathing.

naughty behaviour.

i haven't laid in bed and thought about my life in as much detail as i have these past few nights. jetlag is a bitch. coupled with the last leg of a bad cold, my body has no idea what is going on (or what is a suitable time to be blogging rather than sleeping), so here i am. close to 11pm on a wednesday night, my inner night owl has won me over.

chats with my bestie about the importance of vintage pillowcases and reunions in paris have left me completely inspired. there's a part of me organising my next move, designing posters for a yard sale and saving dollars for my upcoming melbourne trip.

then there's that other bit of me that wants to share with you some pretty pictures (a small slice) and talk about two of my favourite women right now. (beats giving in to the chesty cough and decongestant drinking) now, please understand that i am no model (and do not see myself as one), nor do i feel that comfortable infront of a fancy lense. but when bec asked if i'd model one of her fancy annie dresses and have my sister take photos of this naughty behaviour...i said ummm, yes. (there were some squeals and 10 times the excitement of a single yes involved, but you get the idea). kate was on board and the photoshoot began.

now, i know i'm biased because katie is my sister, but you will most definately agree that her photos speak for themselves. they are nothing short of incredible. she captured the true essence of dreamy delight that comes with wearing a naughty shorts creation.

all that was missing was cake. but this was consumed post shoot and away from photographic evidence!) i'm sure you will agree that the katie/bec collaboration was a beautiful one and i can only hope that you will go and show two of my favourite girls some love. of course, at a more suitable hour than this. night. x

treasure on a tuesday.

i'm back in queensland only a few hours and i'm already getting my thrift on. again, a stop at coles to restock my fridge (with yoghurt, waters and coke zero it seems) meant the lifeline across the road needed a look over/raiding. picked up a few treasures and what better than to share them on a tuesday? i also wanted to take the opportunity to tell you about the special rummage happening on october 22nd in ipswich. i will have lots of fabric delights and crockery for sale. check out the link here and be sure to stop by. i am also hosting a yard sale in november which means most of my furniture (which includes some lovely retro pieces) will be available. some of my fabric stash will also be up for sale. more details will be posted closer to the time and pics of some of my favourites will appear on the blog. back to work today and i hope this finds you all well, have missed you guys. xx

just in case you needed to be reminded that you own this AWESOME teapot.

much of my love goes to meakin. these teacups are charming.

the floral detail pulls at my heart strings.

a little tanned suitcase is always a welcomed addition. will be used for rummage and then fabric storage, perfect.

it's all in the detail.

mary, lambs and those colours all on one little dress? i'm in love.

a lavender romper is just icing on the cake.

a little lemon number that will be adorning a little lady very soon. (ps. i'm not pregnant mum)

macarons are for birthday girls.

so yesterday was my beautiful sister's 26th birthday. it was also the day we returned from two international flights, jetlagged and in dire need of a little rejuvenation (i know, hawaii did tick that box!) enter one of kate's best friends, dale. what a woman. first stop on our whirlwind day in sydney (waiting for our flight back to bris in the evening) was brunch at 'burnt orange' in mosman. incredible. eggs florentine, bircher muesli with rhubarb and chai lattes were indulged upon. sydney pulled out it's summery behaviour for the best part of the day, so a short walk along the bay and some macaron delights ensued. i introduce to you, mr zumbo. strawberries and macarons were enjoyed (picnic style) in a nearby balmain park. puppies ran around us whilst we discussed how good macarons really are. the photos show all, but i will say one more thing (ok, maybe a couple)...this lady is one of the most amazing women in my life. i wish her so many beautiful things for the year ahead. happy birthday bertie, i love you to maui and back, and then so much more. like two peas in a pod, life wouldn't be as wonderful without you.

birthday brunching.

a couple of weeks back i met some of my favourite ladies for my birthday brunch at dandelion & driftwood. it's a favourite place of mine and with a menu that reads whoopie pies, candyfloss cupcakes and some of the best coffee blends around, it was a no brainer. it was a beautiful but breezy morning and of course i brought my favourite photographer along to snap some of the decadence. just a heads up that i couldn't resist posting a bucket load, so be prepared. thank you to my beautiful girls that made it that day, and to those who couldn't be there (because of work, london or paris commitments), you were there in spirit. these photos help explain why i think my 28th year could quite possibly turn out to be the best one yet. have a lovely week.
